BIS Houston’s Youth Environmental Sustainability Summit (BISH YESS) is a student-led, youth-focused sustainability event hosted by BIS Houston. With its inaugural event coming up on October 24th 2026, BISH YESS aims to provide the youth of the Greater Houston Area with a welcoming environment and platform to collaborate, develop sustainability-related skills, learn and share about sustainability.
BISH YESS aims to bring together youth who are passionate about sustainability. At the summit, delegates will listen to talks & panels discussions, participate in workshops, and collectively contribute to the 2026 BISH YESS Youth Declaration. As a youth event, our goal is to give the youth of Houston a voice, and give them the knowledge & skills needed to become better changemakers.
The 2026 BISH YESS Youth Declaration
Every delegate at BISH YESS 2026 will contribute to one document.
In 6 Declaration Committees, delegates discuss problems they've seen at their own schools to create specific commitments and demands (who shoudl do what, and by when). Elected representatives from each committee present the declaration at the Closing Ceremony, the entire delegate body votes, and delegates bring back signed copies to their own school leadership.
BISH YESS 2026 will be held at the British International School of Houston's 33-acre campus, inside our 280,000 square foot building.
External schools will be assigned one student-representative who will guide your group on campus during the summit. There will also be volunteers around campus, who will be happy to give you directions!
With our goal to shape today's youth into tomorrow's change-makers, our campus is the perfect place to learn necessary skills & knowledge in sustainability, and to connect & collaborate with like-minded individuals.
